But The Proposal Was Not Given Importance For Many Years..
Finally, The hopes of peoples Living In DRD To Vaitarna (VTN) Stretch Were given a New Light In The Beginning Of 2013. The Local Services Were Decided To Extend Upto Dahanu Road In The Mid Of March. But Due To Some Technical Difficulties, It Was Further Delayed. But This Time, not for years, but for few days. In the early April 2014, It was Decided By Rail Minister Mr. Pawan Kumar Bansal To Inaugurate The Services On 16th April 2013...

Finally The Day Arrived, When A long waited dream of millions of people from DRD-VTN Stretch was going to come true. Thousands Of people had gathered at Dahanu Road Station to see their beloved Inaugaral Dahanu Local. The First Local towards Mumbai was Scheduled to leave At 10:05 Am from DRD.
All the Ministers who were supposed to be present at DRD function, reached there by 9:50. Finally the Local left DRD around 20 Minutes late, But 20 Minutes Is Nothing in front of 20 years..
10 New Services Were Introduced To Run Upto Dahanu Road. One Shuttle Service (59461 Borivali (BVI) Dahanu Road Shuttle - Well Known As First Shuttle Was Replaced By CCG-DRD EMU Local). The Extension Of Mumbai Suburban Services Upto Dahanu Road Paved The Way for Rural Developments Regarding Industrial As well as Residential issues.

Within A Few Days of EMU Services Commencement, The Land Rates Of land around Railways Increased to to increasing demands of builders and land developers. this extension doubled the stretch of Mumbai suburban services By Western Railways From 60Kms to 124 Kms. Due to this the problem of land Shortage and Overcrowding Which is caused In Mumbai Upto Virar, The New projects would be built in this new land which is Not very densely populated except the Station areas Of Dahanu, Boisar, Palghar and Saphale. This Will In-turn Bring more and more opportunities to the local people here and they will no more be required to travel all the way to Mumbai.
